BIG BRAVE-HEARTED CONVERSATIONS

A one-day programme for Educators

Engaging colleagues in difficult conversations can trigger a range of emotions, occupying thoughts and feelings, damaging energy levels and undermining positive intentions. Whether tackling poor performance, investigating or responding to complaints, supporting colleagues with personal problems or tackling personality clashes, there can be a tendency to want to avoid these kinds of conversations altogether! This interactive programme offers frameworks for structuring potentially difficult conversations, focusing on careful preparation and early intervention as an effective – and ultimately time-saving – way of building trust, diffusing tension, and promoting good teamwork.

The programme includes:

  • Acknowledging and managing emotions
  • Establishing the relationship – contracting conversations
  • Getting the language right
  • Courage and vulnerability
  • Dealing with communication roadblocks
  • Managing the follow-up
  • Relaunching the relationship

Delegates receive a Resource Pack with additional references and sources of information.
